#BehindtheAdventure – Submit Your Best Adventure Photos to Catch Jimmy Chin’s Eye
Calling all outdoor adventurers: Today we are launching a Your Shot photography assignment just for you. Our guest photo editor is none other than the accomplished photographer and climber Jimmy Chin. Submit your best shots of outdoor adventure to Your Shot until January 12, 2015, for the chance to catch our eye. We’ll be commenting on photo submissions to the assignment and curating a collection of top images to be published in mid-January.
To prepare for this assignment, we did a photo walk with Jimmy—and photographers Pete McBride (note his hand-stand bridge crossing in the video) and James Q Martin—at the Banff Mountain Film Festival in November 2014. More than 110 eager shooters showed up for what as essentially a flash-mob hike along the lovely Bow River on a cloudy afternoon in the Canadian Rockies. In this video, Jimmy gives some shooting tips, including shooting a landscape, action shot, detail shot, and portrait to help tell your adventure story.
We can’t wait to see your hard-won photos of #behindtheadvenure!
