There’s a dirty little secret among shoemakers: While a shoe’s mesh or leather upper might be anatomically correct, where your foot rests is completely, un-orthotically flat. That’s why most performance shoes include a removable footbed. And that’s why Vasque vowed to do things differently with its 11.4-ounce Transistor FS. Using a new proprietary technology, Vasque created a full 360-degree mold, shaping an anatomical midsole and upper as one and eliminating the need for a footbed.
