News: Tiger Conservation Gets $2.8 Million in Funding From WCS and World Bank

Steve Sanderson, President and CEO of the Wildlife Conservation Society, just made this announcement at the George B. Schaller: Practicing the Art of Conservation lecture in New York City:
"I'm really delighted to be able to announce that we've just signed a $2.8 million agreement to protect tigers throughout their range, partnered with the World Bank, working with all 'range states' to protect the tiger. It's not enough, but it's an important opportunity. The survival of the tiger depends on tiger's range states acting in concert."
Which range states are involved? If it's all of them, we'd assume: India, Bangladesh, Burma, China, Russia, and more.
The involvement in the World Bank is pretty cool, since the World Bank usually funds development projects. There's definitely a paradigm shift happening there, since conservation can mean economic development for many of these countries.
